Parents can guide girls to be more comfortable with “messy” feelings such as jealousy, competition, and anger, they will feel more free to confess these strong feelings and will stay in touch with themselves. They also will be less likely to repress the feelings that over time simmer into rageful acts of cruelty.

At age 26 our body is in its prime! Muscle protein production steadily declines as we age, thus muscles naturally become somewhat weaker. Also your heart cannot beat as fast and pump as much oxygen, because you lose a small fraction of pacemaker cells-the cells that control your heart rate-every year after your midtwenties. Stay active and your body ages at least 80 percent slower compared with those who are sedentary. Exercise for 30 minutes on most days at an intensity of 60 to 80 percent of your maximum effort, and weight train tow to three days a week.

Plan for stress, just like you plan ahead for any calalmity you want to avoid. Do not let stress ruin your holidays. Try to pinpoint what you are anxious about. Start considering your attitude. There is no magical button, but your attitude can make a difference. Look at the possibilities around you, not the restrictions.

Good nutrition can ward off stress. In winter we tend to crave fats and sweets, but ironically, the more fat and sugar we eat, the less energy we hafe, and the more stressed and run down we feel. Eat an apple, instead of apple pie. When our bodies are not operating at peak efficiency, we feel stressed, and our immune systems are not operating at the level they should be.

Work out ! Do not let busy days push your work out off! It is most important now.

Timing is important, DO NOT discuss in front of children. Delay the conversation if either one of you are tired, upset or hungry. Give more time to finding a solution to the problem rather than on the problem itself. Deal with one issue at a time. Stay focused on the present. Limit your discussion to 30 minutes. Alway be willing to listen to the other person until he or she is finished. Take turns speaking. Be open to solutions. Do all of this for your children, they are worth the effort.
