Try Anything Once

You can try anything once. From food to an activity, we are firm believers in giving it a try before crossing it off your list.

In our big family, there’s no room for picky eaters so when it comes to trying foods, it’s really pretty simple at our table. Eat what is served or – don’t eat! When it comes to sports or other clubs and activities its a slightly different policy based on the same principle.

You’ve got to try it for yourself before deciding not to participate. If you hear from others that track or basketball is too hard and base your decision not to try out on that, I won’t hear of it. I make sure the kids give it a good go. If it’s not for them and they really do hate it, Jim and I will make the decision to move them out. Most times, they find that they do like it and can seek the benefits of how one less than favorite sport or activity can actually feed their favorites.
